Our vinyl decals arrive on transfer tape, ready to go. Applying one takes about five minutes, and it's easy to get a perfect, painted-on look if you follow these steps.

Step by step
- Clean the surface with an alcohol wipe and let it dry fully. Avoid window cleaners and car wax, which leave a film.
- Position the decal with the backing still on, and run a strip of masking tape across the middle to make a hinge.
- Peel one half of the backing away up to the hinge and cut it off.
- Squeegee from the centre outwards in firm, overlapping strokes.
- Remove the hinge, peel the other half of the backing and squeegee again.
- Peel the transfer tape slowly back on itself at a sharp angle. If a letter lifts, press it back down and rub again before continuing.
- Leave it for 48 hours before washing or getting it wet so the adhesive can cure.
Got a bubble?
Small bubbles usually disappear in the sun within a few days. For a stubborn one, prick it with a fine pin at the edge of the bubble and press the air out with your thumb.
Making it last
- Apply between about 10 °C and 30 °C, not in direct midday sun.
- Hand-wash cups and tumblers rather than using the dishwasher.
- Keep pressure washers at least 30 cm away from car decals.
