A rotary tool is the Swiss Army knife of the workshop. We use ours daily to clean up 3D prints, smooth laser-cut edges and polish finished pieces.
Corded or cordless?
- Corded gives constant power and never runs flat. It's best for longer sanding sessions.
- Cordless is more convenient for quick jobs and detail work.
Attachments that matter
- Sanding drums for smoothing seams and supports
- Cut-off wheels for trimming plastic and thin timber
- Felt polishing wheels and compound for a shine
- Engraving bits for small detail work
Tips for 3D prints
Use low speeds on plastic. High speed melts PLA and gums up bits. Let the tool do the work and keep it moving.
